2012? Bring it on!

Well 2011 disappeared in a haze of deadlines, meetings, general stress and of course Deflux Day.

Deflux Day was a wet affair, with much golf-related action, a trip down memory lane to the sacred halls of Time Out, breakfast at the new Drexels - when I pointed out the toothpick holder from Hereford St with excitement I was met with a bemused "yeah so what" smile, proving not all of us miss the old days as much as perhaps I do! - bowling, Osaka, and soujourns to Pomeroy's and Cassels for some restorative ales.

On our ways we encountered many a water hazard, a few quality pints, and of course some great people... it was another fine send off to a year that was, well, yeah. It was a year.

We also had a great time at the Three Boys Mexican themed Christmas party, celebrating the launch of their Tres Amigos. A perfect summer drop from one of our favourite gentlemen in the craft beer industry, Deflux turned up in our famous Lucha Libre masks and had a ball. Sorry to Craig at BeerNZ for eating most of the pork, but it should be pointed out that when the chef says the meat is ready then you're pretty much obligated to eat (ie. you were late!).

So third day back and we've already launched a website for our good friends at Team Event. With the Wine Festival but a memory, The Great Kiwi Beer Festival is mere weeks away. With a solid selection of breweries, Wellington Cult Beer bar Hashigo Zake bringing some amazing international offerings, and a great music line up I'm expecting it should be a fantastic day.

Of course, it's Deflux branded and we'll be producing a good range of collateral up to the day to ensure that it's one of the best beer appreciation festivals that Christchurch has seen... check out the site and if you're in town buy a ticket and get there!
