Deflux and the Craft of BrewingDeflux and the Craft of Brewing

Deflux enjoy the odd craft beer, truth be told. Over the last few years we've been very lucky to be able to work with a number of this country's craft brewers, boutique pubs, and the Brewer's Guild of New Zealand who organise the BrewNZ Beer Awards and the country's best beer featival, Beervana.

The earthquake affected the Christchurch brewing scene very badly, with establishments like The Twisted Hop still in the no go zone and Goodbye Blue Monday gone - but the Deflux built Wordpress blog will always be one of the most entertaining reads in NZ pub history (although not if you're easily offended!).

But Three Boys are brewing again, Cassels are building at pace, and many of the brewing community are back to what we now call, "The New Normal™".

Our good friends at Pomeroy's are open again and offering locals the choice of 24 taps of ever changing craft beer. We built their website and the next Pomeroy's Press is underway as we speak, so if you haven't been to what is the best craft beer pub in New Zealand (sorry Wellington) then you owe it to yourself to get on down soonest - maybe try a Rex Attitude or two?

Recently we've revamped our Beervana logo and are preparing for the rush as we work towards August 5 and 6 in Wellington - expect a new website, collateral, and more.

We've just launched the NZ Beer Cup brand and website for the Brewer's Guild, a fun blind tasting knockout beer competition to be held at Pom's on May 23.

Then in probably the biggest development, we've also launched the new 8 Wired website for one of the coolest people in brewing, Søren Eriksen. Søren and his wife Monique are behind this passionate boutique label, and they are consistentely producing some of the most mind blowing craft beers this country has seen. We couldn't be happier with his site, and we've been lucky enough to do a few labels for his upcoming releases too but we've been sworn to secrecy right now... so you'll have to wait.

There's a couple of other little projects in the works too, so the glass is definitely more than half full for us right now. Which brings you up to speed with what's happening in the world of Deflux, craft beer department.

It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it and it might as well be us!!!
