Cooking Things Up

deflux-design-print-web-advertising

Just a note to say that we will update this blog soon, we're very close to getting more than a few things over the line.

It's been a whirlwind September with new brands coming to life, a couple of labels heading off to press, some screenprinted business cards, some foiled collateral and a ton of web for good measure...

So stay tuned. We'll be showing off some new wares soon!

Victory at the Brewers Guild Awards!

We do love craft beer, it's true and we've just returned from the "Craft Beer Capital", Wellington, where we saw our efforts - new website design and development, marketing and design of all Awards collateral for the Brewers Guild - culminate in the Sutton Group Brewers Guild of New Zealand Awards evening.

Natasha Hansen - NZ Olympic Sprint Cyclist

With the London Olympics on the horizon, Deflux have just launched a blog-style website for NZ Sprint Cyclist Natasha Hansen. The site will allow Natasha to share her journey from Invercargill to the London velodrome with her friends, fans and family, as she shoots for the podium...

Featuring Twitter and Instagram integration and complete with a nice typographic logotype, we couldn't be happier with the result and wish Natasha all the best for London 2012!

Elijah Taylor Site Launches

The web work continues at pace and we're currently working on some secret squirrel athlete sites for Red Bull and a Kiwi Olympian which is exciting and will be revealed in due course. But today we've launched a site for Kiwi and Warriors player Elijah Taylor.

With a stylised logotype, a sharp design and all the funtionality you need to be a professional athlete in this day and age, it's been a fun project and we're happy to see it launch!

Gunnamatta | The Yeastie Boys

Congrats to some of our favourite brewers, Auckland-Wellington-via-Invercargill's The Yeastie Boys on their latest beer, Gunnamatta, taking out the Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular's People's Choice Award. It's kind of a big deal given the profile of this huge craft beer festival, and the only downside if that more Australian's will probably want to drink a good deal more of our craft beer.

The top 10 featured Renaissance and Epic too, the full run down was:

Busy Busy Busy, Must be Coffee Time!

Where is this year going? It's nearly St Patricks Day!

We've been working away on a raft of this and that, which is why we've been a bit quiet of late. To prove that this is no mere excuse (well, it's my story and I'm sticking to it!), allow me to share some of the fantastic projects we've been occupied with.

The Great Kiwi Beer Fest

Team Event approached Deflux for help with The New World Food & Wine Festival and The Great Kiwi Beer Festival. Knowing our work with the Mud House Group, and our extensive experience in the craft beer sector, they identified we were ideally placed to help bring these events to life. And so we came on board as design partners in a sponsorship role.

2012? Bring it on!

Well 2011 disappeared in a haze of deadlines, meetings, general stress and of course Deflux Day.

Deflux Day was a wet affair, with much golf-related action, a trip down memory lane to the sacred halls of Time Out, breakfast at the new Drexels - when I pointed out the toothpick holder from Hereford St with excitement I was met with a bemused "yeah so what" smile, proving not all of us miss the old days as much as perhaps I do! - bowling, Osaka, and soujourns to Pomeroy's and Cassels for some restorative ales.

New World Wine & Food Festival

Events are great things to work on, and Deflux have been lucky to work alongside some great people on some amazing experiences over the years (Southern Amp and Beervana spring to mind).

Post-quake Christchurch is of course an odd affair, so when we were approached by the newly established Team Event to work with them on a couple of festivals then we naturally jumped at the chance - it's just what Christchurch needs.

QR Codes?!?

QR-Code-Fun-deflux-design

There's a good deal of excitement about QR codes at the moment. In fact we even designed a label for good friends the Yeastie Boys Digital IPA that is basically all QR codes, with 6 of them scannable taking you off into their virtual world.
